May the Force be with you

Let’s be honest: I’m a big fan of Star Wars. And yes, I got a bit inspired by Princess Leia’s look. But I’m not the only one…

As we know fashion industry often takes it’s inspiration from pop culture phenomenons. So it’s no surprise that over the many successful years of Star Wars franchise, there have been countless designers (Bobby Abley, Marjan Pejoski, Alexander McQueen, David Koma, Justin Thornton and Thea Bragazzi or Rodarte) and events (“Fashion Finds the Force”) that gathered inspiration from the films.

My inspiration started on the couch watching Star Wars during one of the very cold evenings (winter came back to Hamburg) but ended in my wardrobe. It wasn’t that hard to find something to sci-fi chic look.

I am wearing velvet deep V American Apparel dress – it’s not available anymore in velvet. To make the look more interesting I’m wearing white sheer ribbed jumper from Urban Outfitters under it. But the most cosmic part of the look is this cropped puffer jacket which matches perfectly with black leather boots with white laces.
